I’ve taken a picture of this Great Blue Heron before, but not since I started this blog … and I’ve never captured him eating a fish … until now.
By the way, this is the little pond on Fort Huachuca, right near lodging. In addition to the Heron, there’s usually a good variety of little fly catchers other small birds. Here are few more shots from this morning …
On Sunday I got a shot of a Bronzed Cowbird, well today I saw the Brown-headed Cowbird:
Here’s a bird that I see a lot, but I still things they’re really cool:
Before the Heron showed up, I was attempting to catch a picture of the swallows diving down at the water … I was relatively unsuccessful:
And finally, way over on the other side of the pond, I managed to spy this Blue Grosbeak. It’s not a great picture (this is a very cropped image), but now that I know this bird is there, I’ll try to get a better shot next time.
