I’ve been here in Arizona almost a year now, and it was the birds right around the house where I live that got me interested in getting my camera out and going for nature walks. I’m seeing a lot of the same type of birds right now.
There’s a field just down the road from the house, and I can always count on finding Anna’s Hummingbirds hanging in the trees there.
Then right out in the front yard of the house across the street, the curved-billed thrashers are back.
We also have a lot of White-winged Doves. I normally don’t take pictures of them, but this one was sitting in some nice light, with an interesting background.
Then finally, yesterday in my backyard, we got a visit from a nice ladder-backed woodpecker.
If my memory serves me correctly, we should start seeing a lot more goldfinch pretty soon too. In any case, it’s definitely the time of year where I’ll be trying to get out with my camera for at least short walks as often as I can.
